Blood And Breath Tests
There are blood and breath tests available, but they arent as accurate as stool testing. Im not fond of the breath test because you have to drink a liquid loaded with aspartame, an artificial sweetener.
Some people also suffer from side effects of the drink, like burning of the throat and stomach, nausea, and diarrhea. Many of these symptoms are already present in people with H. Pylori.
What Is Helicobacter Pylori
Helicobacter pylori known as H. pylori for short is a spiral-tailed pathogenic bacteria that primarily resides in the stomach, though it can also live anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract .
H. pylori was discovered by two Australian researchers, Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, one of whom proved H. pylori caused gastritis by infecting himself with the bacteria . They were awarded the Nobel Prize in 2005 for this important discovery for gastroenterology.
Its estimated that more than half of the worlds population has H. pylori present in their gut . Only 10-20% of people infected will develop symptoms like peptic ulcers, and a very small percentage will develop gastric cancer .
H. pylori burrows into and inflames the stomach lining, which affects the acid-producing parietal cells of the stomach . A chronic decrease in stomach acid due to H. pylori infection is a risk factor for many conditions and side effects downstream. Low stomach acid can lead to vitamin B12 and iron deficiency, poor protein digestion, low bile and enzyme secretion, and slow gut motility [10
However, a wide range of meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and clinical trials conclude that probiotics can make a significant difference in H. pylori treatment. Given these data, the role of probiotics should be prominent during treatment.

Natural H Pylori Treatments
If youre not interested in conventional treatment, you have some options to treat H. pylori naturally. In general, its really important that we find dependable natural treatments of this bacteria since antibiotic resistance against H. pylori is on the rise and does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
These are the some of the best, scientifically-backed treatments to naturally fight this bacterial infection:
Since H. pylori is an unwanted or bad bacteria in the gut, it makes total sense that probiotics can help to naturally fight this type of infection. A 2012 placebo-controlled pilot study published in the journal Inflammation and Allergy Drug Targets looked at the effects of probiotics on people with dyspepsia who tested positive for pylori bacteria. They found that following treatment with an eight-strain probiotic supplement, 13 of the 40 patients had a complete eradication of their H. pylori.
Another more recent study in 2017 makes an excellent point the common antibiotics used to get rid of H. pylori often do not successfully eradicate H. pylori in sufferers due to antibiotic resistance, which is becoming more prevalent as overuse of antibiotics continues.
Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus brevis are three specifics strains of probiotics that have been highlighted in scientific research for their ability to fight H. pylori bacteria.

How To Get Rid Of H Pylori Naturally
If youre suffering with chronic gastritis, acid reflux, bloating, or peptic ulcer, there may be an underlying cause of your condition. Its called helicobacter pylori , a common cause of stomach ulcers.
What is Helicobacter Pylori?
Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that causes chronic gastritis and ulcer. It can also cause acid reflux. It is estimated that over 90% of people with peptic ulcers are infected with this bacterium. People with H. pylori in their bodies fall into two categories: Colonized and infected. Colonized patients often do not notice any symptoms, whereas infected patients do.
Helicobacter Pylori Causes
H. pylori lives in the GI tract of up to 30% of the Unites States population, 80% of whom are asymptomatic. The most common cause of H. pylori infection is contaminated food or water or person-to-person contact with saliva, blood, vomit or fecal matter. This infection is sometimes contracted in childhood.
Symptoms of H. Pylori Infection
Symptoms of helicobacter pylori infection can sometimes be difficult to pin down. Since the bacterium is the primary cause of stomach ulcers, this can be a strong indication of H. pylori infection.
Other symptoms include:

How I Got Rid Of It
Not only did I have H. Pylori, but I also had a parasite that I needed to get rid of. I wanted to make sure I got rid of both of them so I did a 6 week herb program for the H. Pylori and then another 6 weeks for the parasite. After the herbs, I needed to replenish my good bacteria and heal my gut so I did another 6 week gut healing program. The typical treatment for H. Pylori is antibiotics, but that can wreak havoc on your gut and Ive been trying heal my gut in last year with a Paleo diet. I decided to work with a holistic nutritionalist and use an herbal program to get rid of both the h. pylori and the parasite. Since Im not a medical professional I havent listed amounts below. You should contact a holistic nutritionalist, naturopath, or medical professional before starting an herbal supplement program.

Nausea And Stomach Pain
Nausea and stomach pain usually appear from the second day of treatment onwards. To prevent these symptoms from happening, it is important to drink plenty of water, rest, and eat easily digestible foods such as yogurt, white cheeses, and crackers.
Drinking ginger tea shortly after waking up and eating 1 slice of toast or 3 crackers, as well as avoiding large amounts of fluids in one sitting, are good ways of relieving morning sickness.
Probiotics As Adjuvant Therapy In Standard Eradication Protocols
However, more recent studies published by Song et al and Zojaji et al didnt confirm positive impact of S. boulardii on eradication rate. In Songs study 991 H. pylori infected patients were recruited. Patients in group A were treated only with two antibiotics and proton pump inhibitor, in group B S. boulardii was added for one month, and in group C the same regimen was used and in addition mucoprotective agent DA-9601 derived from Artemisia asiatica was concomitantly prescribed. Interestingly, the eradication rate was significantly higher in group B and C compared to group A only if intention to treat analysis was performed , whereas the eradication rate difference of per protocol patients analysis was not significant. The conclusion was that supplementation with S. boulardi could be effective for improving eradication rates by reducing adverse effects thus helping completion of eradication therapy. Zojaji et al included 160 adult patients. In the study protocol the probiotic S. boulardii was added to clarithromycin, amoxicillin and omeprazole for two weeks. The study showed that probiotics decrease the frequency of adverse events due to antibiotic therapy, but didnt increase the eradication rate of H. pylori.

Bacterial Strain And Culture Condition
H. pylori ATCC43504 were purchased from England and were transferred to the microbiological laboratory of Alborz University of Medical Sciences . They were then cultured on Brucella agar with 7.5% of sheep blood, 10% of fetal bovine serum, and containing antibiotics with a type C gas pack at 37°C for 57 days. Then, all the clear and spherical colonies were identified using Gram staining, catalase, oxidase, and rapid urease test. Standard L. acidophilus DSM and L. plantarum DSM strains were obtained from the Pasteur Institute and L. rhamnosus strain was isolated from organic honey in Mazandaran province mountains. In the next step, bacteria were cultured on Man-Rogosa-Sharpe agar and were incubated at 37°C for 48 h under microaerophilic conditions using a type C gas pack. Microbial suspensions were produced as 109 CFU/mL doses from cultured bacteria using PBS solution.

What You Can Do Now
In the United States, doctors seldom test for H. pylori unless you have symptoms. If you have symptoms, call your doctor for an evaluation. H. pylori infection shares symptoms with other stomach conditions, such as acid reflux and GERD. Its important you get the right diagnosis to make sure youre treated correctly.
If you test positive for H. pylori, the sooner you start treatment, the better. Natural treatments arent likely to harm you, but they arent proven to eliminate the infection. Dont use them instead of conventional treatments without your doctors supervision.
What Is H Pylori
Scientists only discovered the bacteria H. pylori in 1982 when they found that it was the cause of most stomach ulcers.
Before that, it was believed that stomach ulcers were caused solely by stress, spicy foods, smoking, or other unhealthy lifestyle habits.
The lining of your stomach and gut is designed to protect you from the acid your body uses to digest food. However, H. pylori attacks the lining of your stomacha and gut, causing gastritis the inflammation and weakening of the mucosal lining. This can allow stomach acid to seep through the lining and cause gastric ulcers.
In fact, H. pylori infection is thought to be the cause of more than 80 percent of gastric ulcers and up to 90 percent of duodenal ulcers.
Ulcers are a major problem because they can bleed, cause infections, or slow down the passage of food through your digestive tract.

Diet And Supplements For H Pylori Gut Support
The diet I recommend is free of gluten and grains and is extremely helpful in treating this type of infection. The program also involves a combination of different supplements.
I recommend a very strong probiotic as well as our supplement called GastroBlast. It is a combination of different nutrients like mastic gum, licorice, zinc carnosine, and cabbage extract. These are all compounds that have shown to be very helpful with this condition. It helps the stomach lining heal as well.
ProbioXtreme, GastroBlast, Curcumin Protect, C-Bioflavonoids 500, NAC , and GI-Mend are all compounds that when taken together, can help with eliminating symptoms of H Pylori.
All the patients mentioned above did a three-month protocol, and they all showed resolution with follow up testing.
The last step of the protocol is to retest to make sure the infection is gone. All of my patients tests showed the infection was gone, as well most of their symptoms. Their gut symptoms and skin symptoms like eczema, rashes, and itchiness had all cleared up. They typically resolve when you follow the above-mentioned protocol.

Mastic Gum For H Pylori
There have been studies2 done on taking Mastic gum for H pylori with some success. It is worth noting that some dosages were more effective than others and it didn’t cure everyone but it when taken at a level of350 mg, three times a day, for fourteen days some of the group did have the Helicobacter pylori killed off.
So if it works for you then that is great news.
Good quality mastic gum should have a strong pungent smell when the container is opened. The a-terpineol and -methyl isoeugenol in mastic gum have been successful against four different H pylori strains.3

Probiotics And H Pylori
We have conducted several clinical studies that have shown the favorable effect of Lactobacillus johnsonii La1 on H. pylori gastritis . We have aimed to corroborate the results of these studies in the present review. For this purpose, we performed a literature search on studies dealing with H. pylori and probiotics. All published English-language studies were identified by an electronic search of the MEDLINE database using the key words probiotics, lactobacilli, and lactic acid bacteria in connection with H. pylori. Abstracts and studies not yet published in full were excluded.
In the present article we first discuss the possible mechanisms of action of probiotics on H. pylori infection, as reported by in vitro and animal studies. Then we provide the available evidence of the effect of probiotics on H. pylori gastritis, which comes from the results of in vivo animal and human studies. Finally, the effect of the addition of probiotics to standard H. pylori eradication therapy is discussed.
Metallic Taste In The Mouth
This can happen early on in the treatment, and can worsen over time. To help treat this problem, you can add vinegar to your salads and sprinkle baking soda and salt on your toothpaste before brushing your teeth. This will help both neutralize the acids in the mouth and produce more saliva, which can get rid of the metallic taste.
Probiotics Support The Eradication Of H Pylori
New research has shown that probiotic supplementation can help kill the H. pylori bacteria. Its also been found that taking probiotics helps to prevent adverse symptoms associated with H. pylori treatment.
Researchers included 140 studies that involved over 20,000 patients in the meta-analysis. More than 10 kinds of probiotics and combinations were used, including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.
Researchers found that 84 percent of people who used probiotics managed to fully eradicate their H. pylori infection, while only 70 percent of those using antibiotics alone had achieved full eradication. The probiotics also reduced side effects.
In another study involving children with H. pylori infection, researchers compared the effects of triple therapy but placing the children into four groups: a S. boulardii plus inulin group, an L. acidophilus group, and a drug-free group.
The results showed that the children treated with probiotics ended up with significantly reduced levels of H. pylori, and that as many as 12% of the children showed complete eradication.
